Free is the right price for a code that will never change and that nobody needs to measure. Ours are free too — and ours can be changed, and counted, without paying anything either.

It changes more often than anybody expects: a menu moves, an event page is archived, a product line is renamed, a domain changes hands. With a static code every one of those means reprinting whatever it was printed on.
The factTheir own FAQ states you cannot edit the content of the QR codes again. Ours are editable for as long as the account exists, including on the free plan.
“I do not need to track scans.”
Until the first time somebody asks whether it worked. Scan tracking is a paid upgrade there and free here, so there is no version of this where waiting costs less.

The free code is the easy half
Anybody can generate a static code, us included, and neither of us should charge for it. The whole question is what happens on the day the destination has to move — and with a static code the answer is reprinting.
A dynamic code makes that a field you edit. Ours are free to start, they never expire, and they keep resolving whatever happens to your plan later.
“It still works” is not the same as “it is still right”
A static code keeps working forever, and that is genuinely a strength — right up until it is pointing at a page that no longer exists, at which point it keeps working perfectly and sends everybody to a 404.
Nearly a third of people say they have scanned a code and hit an expired or dead link (Uniqode survey, 2026). That is the failure a dynamic code prevents, and it costs nothing here to prevent it.
